Antonio Escamilla, was born in Seville, Spain. His research project title at Universidad de Sevilla is “Innovative energy storage concepts based on power-to-power (P2P) solutions using micro gas turbines”. He obtained a BEng in Energy Engineering, specialized in turbomachinery and thermal power generation, at the University of Seville in 2016. After that, he obtained a MSc in Thermal Power (Gas Turbine Option) in 2018 at Cranfield University, United Kingdom. His area of research during his studies has been Thermodynamic Cycles and Turbomachinery design for supercritical CO2 as working fluid. Following this achievement, he has worked as a Turbomachinery Software Developer for 2 years and half at Advanced Design Technology in London (UK).
On a more personal level, Antonio’s main hobby is sports; he really enjoys practicing both cycling and tennis. He is also a supporter of Real Betis Balompié, a football team from “La Liga”.
