ESR8 Pietro Pagani at PSI
During his secondment at PSI Pietro Pagani worked in the Computational Fluid Dynamics Group under the supervision of profs Peter Johanson. Given his background in numerical simulation of combustion, Pietro further increased this knowledge by studying and investigating catalytic combustion modelling, working closely with professor Ioannis Mantzaras.
After a first assessment on numerical tools for modelling surface-chemistry, Pietro combined his expertise on chemistry reduction to analyze the important species and reaction in different key moments of the catalytic combustion phenomenon. Both methanation processes and syngas combustion were considered in the investigation.
