ESR13 Giuseppe Tilocca at Challoch

The main topics and tasks covered in the secondment were:

  1. Core activity – Hydrogen applications for decentralised energy systems:
    1. Gather technical and end-user requirements, including a rural community’s residential, commercial and industrial power and heat demand.
    2. Assess the technical and economic feasibility of integrating a microturbine into a DES to provide backup power.
    3. Assess the competitiveness of microturbines in such systems.
    4. Advice on innovation paths to boost the competitiveness of mGT for decentralised H2 applications.
  2. Further training and activities:
    1. Working in an energy consultancy: insights on related ongoing and completed projects.
    2. Training on policy and energy framework applied to cogeneration and distributed generation.

Moreover, in the following months, the ESR will keep collaborating with Challoch Energy to disseminate the work performed during the secondment in conferences and publications.
