ESR11 Panagiota Chatzi at ACTE
Patty Chatzi has completed a secondment at ACTE in Liège, Belgium.
She worked closely with Vincent Collard, CEO of ACTE. She had the opportunity to see the facilities and manufacturing process of the unique design of annular compact recuperators. She got familiar with the standard work on design process of heat exchangers in terms of thermal, hydraulic and mechanical performance. Her main task was to find experimentally the correlations of pressure drop of the core of ACTE compact heat exchanger. Specifically, she accomplished the experimental set up and pressure drop tests. She used the results to validate the theoretical model for this type of heat exchanger. The numerical results showed very good agreement with the experiment with a slight underestimation of pressure drop from the theoretical model.”
